Why is it so hard to sit still ?
It’s easy to get distracted with the overload of noise and technology that surrounds most of us computers , tablets , mobile phones , Ipods , instant messaging , skype, facetime, TV-radio etc…. It is simply overload that never ends. Most of my clear thinking comes from being outdoors or shifting focus to simple tasks or activities. What you do can influence people in a positive or negative way. Make time each day to clear your mind through exercise and listening with out head phones. If you want a mental workout . Sit still for 10-30 minutes a day and see if you can reduce a sense of urgency that you should be doing something else , planning for something in the future , or worrying about something that has already happened. If you’re a type A -Achievement oriented person it will test your true mental strength. Breathing exercises will help you focus on getting centered . Make a paradigm shift that sitting still is the opposite of doing nothing . It is a productive way to improve focus and clarity in what you do.
